Specification options

What TRV can design and build into a towable caravan or trailer in 2026, starting with the options that matter most for UAE heat, sand and long desert distances.

Body & exterior

5 options
Seamless fibreglass sandwich body
Bonded fibreglass sandwich panels and moulded caps, joined and finished so no seams show. The fibreglass skins are bonded under pressure or vacuum to a closed-cell foam core, and the walls, roof and floor contain no timber, so there is no wood to rot.
Moulded front and rear caps
A large curve from the front wall into the roof and a tapered rear reduce drag when towing. Moulded in TRV's own fibreglass workshop.
Composite floor with fibreglass underside
Insulated floor of about 40–60 mm. The fibreglass underside resists stones and sand-blasting and limits heat rising from hot asphalt.
Slide-out room
Adds about 0.6–1.0 m of room width at camp. Fitted with sand-tolerant wiper seals, a topper and a manual retract. Not offered on off-road units.
Electric awning with LED strip
Roll-out awning along the door side, typically about 4–6 m long on a large unit, with a dimmable LED strip under the front rail.

Doors & windows

7 options
Interior suite door
A sliding pocket door between the living area and the rear suite, so the bedroom and washroom can be closed off.
Insulated multi-point-lock doors
Insulated sandwich door leaf, made to suit the wall thickness, with compression seals against sand, a built-in fly screen and blind, and an electric fold-out step with an LED step light.
Keyless locks
A keypad, fob or phone replaces the key.
Powered soft-close
A motor pulls the entry door the last few centimetres onto its seals, subject to door supply.
Door-status sensors
Concealed contacts show whether the entry door, and any garage or locker door, is open or closed (and locked, where a lock sensor is fitted), on the touch screen and in the phone app.
Toy-hauler garage doors
A ramp door that lowers into a railed patio, a full-width screen door behind it, and a sealed partition door between the garage and the living area.
Flush tinted windows and panoramic front
Flush double-glazed windows with solar-control tint (tint level set to local rules) and built-in blinds. The panoramic front and roof windows get insulated covers when parked, and the front window a stone guard for travel.

Insulation & climate

4 options
Variable-speed roof air conditioners
Two or three units of about 2.2–3.6 kW each. Ratings are usually quoted at about 35 °C, so we size up for 45–50 °C summers. Low-profile heat-pump models (about 22–25 cm high) also heat on desert winter nights, which makes a gas-free build possible.
Closed-cell foam core
An XPS or polyurethane core of about 0.022–0.035 W/m·K. Walls are about 30–40 mm; the roof and floor get the thickest panels, about 40–60 mm.
Cool white roof
White gelcoat or a reflective coating that reflects roughly 70–85% of the sun's energy when clean. Dust lowers this, so the roof is designed to be easy to wash.
Fewer metal heat bridges
Bonded panels without a metal frame, composite fixing points, and door, window and hatch frames with a thermal break. Some metal still passes through at chassis, axle and hardware fixings.

Power

5 options
48 V lithium (LFP) house battery
About 10–20 kWh in a large twin axle, sized per order to run one or two ACs through the night without shore power. Recharging after summer AC use needs driving, a generator or a hook-up as well as solar. Mounted low inside the insulated, cooled body, since LFP cells are normally charged only up to about 45 °C. Compact units use 12/24 V banks of about 2–8 kWh.
Inverter/charger with battery boost for weak hook-ups
About 3–5 kVA per unit. The battery supports weak farm or campsite hook-ups when the ACs start, and switchover takes milliseconds.
Roof solar array
About 1–2 kW on a large twin axle, mounted with an air gap for cooling and with room to clean off dust.
Charging from the tow vehicle
A DC-DC charger of about 400–700 W per unit, which can step up to 48 V. It needs dedicated heavy cabling and is mounted out of the sun.
Sodium-ion batteriesEmerging
Early technology. Makers claim better low-temperature performance and improved safety. We offer it only as an emerging option; lithium (LFP) stays the default.

Smart control & connectivity

5 options
TRV smart control
KNX control, DALI dimmable lighting, a touch screen, a phone app, an energy-flow display and a Matter bridge for voice assistants.
Remote pre-cooling and alerts
Start the ACs before you arrive. Get alerts on cabin heat, battery, tanks and door status over mobile data.
Wireless sensor suite
A battery shunt, non-contact tank sensors, cabin temperature and humidity, and tyre pressure and temperature on every wheel.
5G router with roof antenna
Dual SIM or eSIM with a low-profile MIMO roof antenna. This is the main link on UAE highways and in towns.
Satellite internet ready
Roof mount, power and cabling for a flat-panel low-orbit terminal (about 25–45 W), for use where licensed service is available. UAE service availability is confirmed for each order.

Water, kitchen & bathroom

6 options
Gas-free galley
An induction hob of about 1.8–3.5 kW, a compressor fridge, and electric oven and water heating. With no gas vents, there are fewer openings for dust.
Outdoor kitchen
A side locker on the door side, between the entry door and the axles, under the indoor kitchen so the plumbing is shared. It has a slide-out induction cooktop, sink and worktop that you use under the awning.
UV-C drinking-water treatment
Sediment and carbon filters plus a mercury-free UV-C LED unit that disinfects water at up to about 8 L/min.
Insulated tanks
Fresh, grey and black tanks insulated against heat, with capacities set in the specification for long desert stays.
Lightweight cabinetry
Aluminium-honeycomb or foam-core panels, roughly 30–50% lighter than plywood, that do not swell in humidity.
Recirculating showerEmerging
Filters, UV-disinfects and reheats shower water in a closed loop. Makers claim large water savings. Early technology.

Safety

4 options
Electronic anti-sway control
Sensors detect snaking caused by crosswinds or passing trucks and brake the trailer until the car and trailer settle.
Towing cameras
Wireless rear and side cameras of about 170°. Where your tow vehicle supports a trailer camera, we can prepare the trailer for the vehicle maker's own accessory.
Battery-compartment fire suppression
A heat-activated extinguisher in the battery and inverter compartment, linked smoke and CO alarms, and an alert to your phone.
Full-LED exterior lighting
A continuous LED rear light band, side markers, and dimmable step and ground lights at the entry door.

Running gear

6 options
Independent air suspension
Trailing arms with air springs give about 130–150 mm of wheel travel. Ride height is raised or lowered by remote.
Hydraulic disc brakes or ABS
Electric-over-hydraulic disc brakes resist fade on long mountain descents. ABS on electric brakes is the alternative. Either is matched to your tow vehicle.
Automatic levelling
One-button hydraulic or electric levelling on four corner legs with large sand pads, rated for the trailer's full weight.
Remote motor mover
Motors on the wheels move a heavy twin-axle trailer by remote in tight driveways and storage yards, where a mover rated for the trailer's weight and compatible with its suspension is available. Not for soft sand.
Weight planning
Batteries and tanks sit low near the axles to keep nose weight steady. A fully equipped 8–9 m twin axle can exceed 3.5 t, so we check the tow vehicle and licence first.
Electric-assist axleEmerging
A motor in the axle helps on climbs and recovers energy into the battery when braking. Early technology; UAE registration rules must be confirmed first.

Every item is an option, configured per project and fixed in your written specification. Values are typical ranges, not guarantees. Items marked emerging are early technology, offered only after a separate study. We publish no prices: each project is quoted in writing.
